Dr. Thomas Brugman

Dr. Brugman was born and raised in Southern California. He attended the University of California Irvine as a biology major assisting in research in diabetes. He subsequently attended medical school at UC Irvine, graduating cum laude and received several awards for academic excellence. He was nominated in his junior year of medical school to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical Society. Following graduation from medical school, he completed a 3 year residency in internal medicine at the Oregon Health Sciences University and continued on as the Oregon Lung Association fellow in pulmonary diseases. In February, 1984 he moved to Ventura and founded Ventura Pulmonary and Critical Care Medical Group. He is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease and critical care medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and is a member of the American Thoracic Society. His interests include scuba diving, snow skiing and annual hiking trips to Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
